7 Steps to Living at the Speed of Life

Everywhere you turn today, people are in a constant rush: Hurry here! Hurry there! Free up an extra half-hour and you just might be able to squeeze one more task into your already overflowing schedule of things to do.
Unfortunately, too many of us these days mistake living fast for living well. They aren't the same things. Rather than spend your time rushing around not enjoying life, make the decision to do just the opposite. Choose to slow down.
Below I've listed 7 steps that will help you get started "gearing down" to a calmer, more enjoyable pace: your own, personal, speed of life.
1. Stop rushing
No matter how much you do or don't do, time passes by at a steady rate. Second by second, minute by minute. You can't change that. So accept it and pace yourself.
2. Stop being rushed
Of course, you'll need to spend some time telling the people around you that you're not going to rush anymore, but it's worth it. Take a stand: don't let others force you into fast forward mode.
3. Do less
It's natural for you to start rushing about when your list of activities is jam-packed. If you really want to slow down, reduce your commitments --it's okay to say "No" when people ask for your help and/or participation-- and free up some "spare" time.
4. Do nothing
Better yet, take #3 even further. Do less than less.... do nothing! Plan "nothing days". These are days when you have absolutely nothing that must be done -- days when anything you choose to do is the right thing to do.
5. Do one thing at a time
If you can't bring yourself to doing less (or nothing), then slow down by simply doing one thing at a time. You'll focus more on each task you do (and you'll probably complete it faster, too).
6. Do things now
Not everything, just the stuff that really must be done today. Pay your bills when they arrive, not the day they're due. Take out the trash when the trash is full, not just on the day the garbage truck comes by.
7. Do something for someone else
Spend an hour each week helping your favorite charity . You'll quickly see how valuable time really is and you'll feel great by focusing on helping others.

Boy, time sure flies when your busy, eh?

I have been working on my websites, helping my sister out at her bakery, and still working at a full time job. I have learned that time is the one thing you can never get back, so I am trying to make each minute count.

I added Google ads to my sites and have been promoting them often. I optimized the meta tags for the search engines and even added some affiliate banners. Much more to do yet, but it is good to have something that keeps me busy.

Samson and Caesar, my bratty cats, are getting fat and sassy. Samson is my "dog-cat" he was raised by a Yorkshire terrier that had lost her pups. She went into a depression until my sister found 4 kittens that were motherless, because she died. That dog is a trip. She would not let those kittens out of her sight.

Anyway, Samson was the only one that survived--thus his name--and now as an adult cat he doesn't know if he is a cat or a dog. I had to put locks on the bathroom door, because he figured out how to open it...Kind of embarassing for guests.. He even taught Caesar how to do it...

Caesar was rescued from the local animal shelter. This is the most loving, sweet cat I have ever owned. Both are males and neutered. Caesar must weigh 25 pounds, (ok, so I like to exagerate). but honestly, he is a huge, orange and white colored cat with a huge stomache. (oh, oh, I just told on myself, heard a person's animals look like the owner)

Well, have to close for now, will try to keep this up more often.

Sorry it has taken so long to update this blog, but honestly I have been really busy. I work all week as a Career Specialist and then I work my online business in my spare time.

I recently took a very needed vacation. Our family gathered together in San Antonio and really enjoyed each other. We went to the River Walk, took a boat tour and then went to see the Alamo. I highly recommend it to anyone. The atmosphere is very relaxing and laid back. The food choices are outrageous and pricing varies, but everything we ate was very good.

Well, time to get back to business. Thanks for visiting and come back soon.

Hi,

My name is Sandara Reynolds.
I just wanted you to see where I am coming from because I am so excited about creating an online business.

I have done bookkeeping and office work most of my life, but there was a time when, after I lost my job, I could not find work.
The enevitable happened...I was soon homeless and scratching for any crumb of a job I could get just to eat. Being a moral woman out in the streets, is not very easy. You have to be so careful. I found myself sleeping in high bushes surrounding churches, inside open church chapels and underneath leaking bridges---to say nothing of how difficult it is to find a job when you look like a snarled rat. One good thing was that it was at a warm time of the year, and I was living in Florida at the time. I was able to walk (oh, yeah. no car, either) to the beach and use the brrrrrrr-very cold showers provided.

I was so hungry one day, that I went to a local burger place, just as they were closing for the night, and asked the night manager if he had any food left over. I explained that I was very hungry, but had no money. He said he did not.
When I left, hungrier than before I walked in from the wonderful smell, I looked back at the front door opening. The manager was coming out with a whole tray of left over burgers. I started to return, thinking that he had changed his mind and that they were for me, when I watched in HORROR, as he moved towards the dumpster and threw them on the ground for a hungry DOG to eat. A DOG! At that moment in my life, I vowed that I would never be that hungry again, and I also vowed that I would be more compassionate and caring towards other people. That is probably why I like my job as a customer service specialist so much.

I am only sharing this with you because I really think that people, in general, don't appreciate the food we eat, the warm bed we sleep in and that car and other modern conveniences afforded those that work.

I now have my own home, a two-year old car, and plenty of food in my cupboard, but the vehicle I am riding in on my journey to success in this lifetime is the computer being "gassed up" by the Internet. I want to invite you to check out the links on this page.
